Outdoors! That is what an “outdoor camp resort” should have, but many don’t. At least, not on their own property.
Grand Haven Resort is BIG, almost 850 acres of outdoors. Although it has 255 campsites (not counting the 40 primitive sites) and 117 lodging facilities, the developed portion, even with the golf driving range thrown in, is less than 200 acres. The rest is available for what you would think an outdoor resort should have: hiking, nature study areas, sightseeing, animal spotting, geocaching, etc.
Grand Haven Resort is primarily wooded and is dominated by three major ridges, with a 300-feet elevation difference from ridge top to valley floor. Exciting chasms separate the ridges, with major and minor streams to wade in or ford. Grand Haven Resort is known for its’ horseback riding. Three seasons of it, in fact, now in its’ continuous 24th year. With dozens of horses to choose from, big and small, different colors, cute names and gentle dispositions, most people will thoroughly enjoy our guided trail rides. Horse trails share the woods on their own trails when the weather is right, and we even have a special and very challenging trail for ATV’s (bring your own).
Here’s a partial list of outdoor amenities at Grand Haven Resort: Golf driving range; catch and release fishing at our own 5-acre lake; pedal boats/canoeing on our lake; horseback riding; ATV’s; Native American Pow-wows; rodeo shows; guided nature walks and, of course, hiking on your own, aided by one of our maps.
If inclement weather or sore muscles change your outdoor plans for the day, there are plenty of things to do inside. Our well-equipped clubhouse and indoor pool, our gym and sauna, our adult lounge and game rooms will keep you busy, and by paying attention to our bulletin boards you’ll get in on some of the activities guaranteed to keep your family awake.

It’s not often that vacation-seekers go to a resort just because it has paintball games but, hey, it happens. There are many families that consider it a family sport, sneaking or running around one of our courses while wildly shooting paintballs at one another.
